March news

Good Morning! The Lugazi Evangelism went well although it was not what I expected.  We started out with 12 churches, but when word got around about the ministry 11 more joined in.  However, when they found out there was no money, only teaching materials and some transport, 14 churches dropped out.  I was disappointed but this was not really unexpected. I deal with this all the time.  No one wants to commit unless there is something in it for them.  The prosperity gospel is is big here.  The 9 churches we did work with were committed and the Lord's work was done.  Praise God! We visited over 3,000 people and 1,500+ accepted Christ.  We also did a lot of school ministries and a lot of the children accepted Christ.  I now am able to start a Bible study in one school.  Next term I will have one hour to lead a Bible study every Friday.  And I have been invited back to one of the other schools to teach, but I am not sure how I will ...

Lugazi Uganda Feb newsletter

Greeting from Lugazi,     February was a bit slower pace that January although there was plenty to do.  We didn't travel as much and I never left Lugazi.  Pastor Tiondi went to Masindi the beginning of the month to deal with some issues in the Church. They were able to be quickly and successfully resolves.  We are now planning for a conference and crusade there in April. Part of the reason we weren't traveling much was that on February 8th, Pastor Tiondi and 2 others were in a roll over accident on the way back from taking Pastor Moses to be with his family.  They all walked away from the accident with cuts and bruises.  Pastor injured his shoulder but the x-ray was clear but it was very painful for a couple of weeks. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and praise God he was fine.  The other passenger was bruised pretty badly but is okay.  They were treated at the Iganga Hospital for shock and small laceration...

Africa Jan 2022

Greetings to all! It has been a very busy January, but it looks like we get to slow just a little bit in February. The school is now open and we have almost 150 students.  This is really good although most of them are in the nursery classes, ages 3-5 years.  We need more in the upper primary to even things out, but it is getting hard to find places to put them.  We have had to reorganize and change classes and classrooms many times, but I think it is finally settled.  We hired a new head teacher and she is very good, but a bit overwhelmed because she has had to take on the full responsibility of enrollment and accounting since Kevin quit.  I help wherever I can but she has to be the one to talk to the parents as they come in.  Mostly I run errands and make sure we have all the supplies we need.  Usually this means going to town and school twice a day.  I also do the morning devotions and the weekly Chapel service.  Then on ...

Africa New Year 2022

Image
Happy New Year! Well I haven't posted here for awhile but I am going to try to do better this year. Last year ended on a sorrowful note.  Pastor Tiondi's wife died suddenly.  They think it was due to a heart attack that was caused by a blood clot from the laceration that she had sutured 3 days earlier.  No autopsy was done so we will never know for sure.  Jesca was only 36 yr. and she leaves behind a husband and 6 children.  She was my best friend here and she taught me a lot about people, culture and children and helped me through many things here is Africa. We had the last Memorial service January 9th here in Lugazi.  She was a woman that loved the Lord and was always helping people.  Her children loved her and she taught them to love the Lord.  She supported  her husband in his Pastoral Ministry and was always willing to share the Gospel of Jesus.  She will be missed. We have Pastor Moses as our assistant pastor at church. ...
