Lugazi Uganda Feb newsletter
Greeting from Lugazi,
February
was a bit slower pace that January although there was plenty to do. We
didn't travel as much and I never left Lugazi. Pastor Tiondi went to
Masindi the beginning of the month to deal with some issues in the
Church. They were able to be quickly and successfully resolves. We are
now planning for a conference and crusade there in April.
Part
of the reason we weren't traveling much was that on February 8th,
Pastor Tiondi and 2 others were in a roll over accident on the way back
from taking Pastor Moses to be with his family. They all walked away
from the accident with cuts and bruises. Pastor injured his shoulder
but the x-ray was clear but it was very painful for a couple of weeks.
The driver was thrown from the vehicle and praise God he was fine. The
other passenger was bruised pretty badly but is okay. They were treated
at the Iganga Hospital for shock and small lacerations but nothing
needed to be sutured. Praise God everyone is doing well now. The car
was totaled and looking at the pictured I am amazed that they all walked
away. God is good.
We are
organizing a National to National crusade in Lugazi. We held the
training a couple of weeks ago and we had another session last Sunday.
All seemed to be going well until some started rumors about money and
Muzunguz coming to help. We have had to do some calls to find out who
was saying what. Pray that we can all work together and the rumors are
corrected and the truth is known so that the ministry isn't marred by
lies and mistrust. I have to stay calm and not let this bother me. It
is in God's hands. The ministry starts March 12th and goes to the 20th. I
am excited about the number of churches and the overall response to the
ministry.
Pastor Tiondi
is going to minister in Kyunga and Moyo for a week and so I will be
alone at the house during the day while the kids are in school. This
will be a really big change because I was used to about 26 kids and
adults during Covid and now there are 4 children and me. I will be
cooking and cleaning for myself and that will be good.
I
still lead morning devotions and prayer at the school every day and on
Thursday I lead Chapel. I am also the prayer chairman for the Lugazi
ministry and we meet every night Monday through Friday from 5-6pm. I
will probably be involved in the follow-up Discipleship training also. I
am also working on a manual on the duties and responsibilities of
Pastors and Church members for the local churches. It will include
roles and goals and a code of ethics. You would think that this would
be well established in the churches but you would be surprised at what
they accept and reject. It is something I have been dealing with since I
came and will continue to deal with until I am called home. I need to
be tactful, yet firm and uncompromising. Pray for wisdom for me as I
work this through.
