March news

 Good Morning!

The Lugazi Evangelism went well although it was not what I expected.  We started out with 12 churches, but when word got around about the ministry 11 more joined in.  However, when they found out there was no money, only teaching materials and some transport, 14 churches dropped out.  I was disappointed but this was not really unexpected. I deal with this all the time.  No one wants to commit unless there is something in it for them.  The prosperity gospel is is big here.  The 9 churches we did work with were committed and the Lord's work was done.  Praise God! We visited over 3,000 people and 1,500+ accepted Christ.  We also did a lot of school ministries and a lot of the children accepted Christ.  I now am able to start a Bible study in one school.  Next term I will have one hour to lead a Bible study every Friday.  And I have been invited back to one of the other schools to teach, but I am not sure how I will work that one out yet for it is deep in the village and the road is not good.  Pray about that.

Pastor Tiondi is working in Moyo, for the next 1 1/2 weeks and then I will meet him in Masindi on the 6th for a 3 day Leadership Conference in the village.  I will be traveling on my own and although it is safe and the buses are good it is still a bit out of my comfort zone.  It is about a 6-8 hour trip depending on the traffic and road conditions. It seems like I am always being pushed out of my safety/comfort zone.  That is a good place to be for I know that I am to wait upon the Lord.  It is all in His hands.

Saturday we had a one day outreach ministry in the village of Kiryowa (this is about 25 km away)  It was a good meeting and the people were very willing to get out and evangelize.  We haven't been able to get out much that it was a blessing to spend time with the people of this area.  This is the church were I first met and worked with Pastor Tiondi, and a lot of the people are still there, Praise God.  That area is really growing.

We have some new neighbors here.  A witch doctor moved in behind the church and has been complaining about our "noise".  He complained to the area leader (LC1) but so far the LC1 has sided with us.  We haven't heard anything more but pray that we don't.  Also pray for his salvation.  None of the other neighbors have complained and we have been there for over 6 years.

The school is going okay and the children will be taking their final First Term Exams next week.  The next term will start May second.  We will need about 3 new teachers for various reasons so pray that we can get some some strong Christian leaders to teach the children.  We are also wanting to get more children in.

The building is going slow.  The prices on all the materials keep going up, but God is in control and we will get it done in His time.  We won't have it ready for next term like we had hoped but we will plan for the 3rd term.  We also have the new land above the school to clear and develop.  Once we get it ready it will be a great area for the children to play.

It is a long read but well worth it.  It is a challenge to you in a time when we need to be out there sharing the gospel.
