Africa update November2020

This Month has been one for the books.  Although we have more freedom to travel it is very dangerous to travel; not because of Covid, but because of election protest.  Tear gas, rubber bullets and live ammo are being used to control the crowds and the protesters.  Candidate Bobi Wine has been arrested for election campaign violations and his supporters are very angry.  The military has been dispatched and many have been killed or maimed in Kampala.  Here in Lugazi there was a very small uprising but 2 canisters of tear gas put an end to it with out any other problems.  I have been staying out of the town and we are all safe here.  Pray for Uganda! (we have been praying for America and your election problems too).

Two weeks ago we were able to go out and do door to door evangelism.  Almost all the churches have been able to open up, but people are still very hungry for the Word and are open to speaking with us.  We have another outreach in the village nearby this weekend.  If the rains are heavy we won't be able to go for the road in is very bad.  Pastor tried to go in to help get things set up and couldn't make it on the motorcycle.  Pray that the weather and roads are good.

We will be going to Moyo for the first 2 weeks of December.  Jesca, Pricilla and I will be speaking at 4 Women's Conferences during this time.  They are planned for Laropi, Moyo, Budri Refugee Camp and Bidibidi Refugee camp.   We should have safe travels by then and hopefully the Nile River will be down as well so that we can cross safely on the Ferry.

We were able to have a meeting to start planning for next year.  The school will open in January. We are almost finished with the building.  Pray that we find a qualified Head Teacher that will fit in with the ministry.  We also set dated for all the required NGO meetings.  We have to meet with the Board of Directors, Executive Council, General Assembly Meeting and District Meeting; all the things required by the government that we were unable to do this year.  From those meetings we will get dates and planning for the Crusades, Evangelism and Conferences.  We are planning our Annual Conference for April next year.  I will also be working with an American Evangelism team in March in the City of Mbale, Uganda.  If everything is okay with both Governments am planning to come home in July for a short visit.  Lord willing the flight schedules and restrictions will be reasonable.

Even during the Lock down God has enabled us to meet in small group Bible studies.  We just finished the book of Acts and we have started Romans. We meet 3 times a week.  We have another Women's Bible study  in Ephesians once a week and I am still teaching John on Sunday Mornings.  Things are getting busy again.  The Lord has also allowed me to watch an online church history class.  I am on lecture 30 of 56, I may be able to finish by March or April.

I hope and pray that all is going well with you and that you are all safe and healthy.  Our Prayers are with you.

Romans 1:16-17  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
