Uganda Africa April 2022
Good Morning,
It
was a busy April. Now we are looking at May and planning a lot of
ministry projects, but let me catch you up on what we have done.
The
Masindi Church Leadership Training went well. I was able to spend a
couple of days in Kampala visiting friends before having to catch the
bus (alone) to Masindi. It was a good time of visiting and I was with
some of the people that I met on my first trip to Uganda in 2003. They
are still going strong for the Lord and that is an encouragement.
In
Masindi we had 2 long days of teaching and then going out into the
village to do evangelism. We divided up into 5 teams and just went to
the area around the church and spoke to people and encouraged them and
invited them to the church. Many people gave their life to the Lord.
We were not able to get a car to take us back to Masindi from the
village so we came out 5 people on 2 motorcycles, with luggage. I wish I
had got a picture of me on one motor cycle with a suitcase strapped to
the back, one backpack in front of the driver, me wearing the second
loosely with it perched over the top of the suitcase then I had my purse
around my neck on the right side and a live chicken with his head
sticking out of the plastic bag she was tied in on the right. Yes, this
is African travel. The other motorcycle carried 3 men and a backpack.
TIA. Life is always a journey and you can only laugh and go forward.
Praise God it was a nice evening ride through the beautiful country side
and we all arrived safely.
We
are ready to start the second term at the school. The teachers are
there getting ready this week and the kids will be coming back next
week. We had to do some rearranging of the teachers and we are hiring 3
new teachers. It should be good and we Pray that the Lord will work
through this and we will be able to have more students. We are praying
for 200+ students this term and that we can continue to grow and educate
the students mentally and spiritually. It is a great outreach ministry
and helps the community also.
We
had another open air crusade here 2 weeks ago and we were able to do
more outreach in our area. We ended with an overnight prayer meeting
and the Lord was glorified. Many of the people are coming to the church
and we are able to disciple them.
Good
news, we got the NGO submitted finally. We have been working on this
for the last year but we had to get a lot of new paperwork because the
government was changing the requirements. It is mainly a financial
accountability issue that was necessary but we had to get an accountant
to certify our records and we had to do that twice due to the first
accountant not having the proper registration for the government. Now
everything has been submitted. They even allowed us to submit my
paperwork at the same time so I will get my letter of recommendation
next week and can complete my visa application renewal. Pray I get a 3
year visa.
We have a lot of
upcoming ministries planned and I will list them in the prayer
requests. The main news is that Pastor Tiondi will be getting remarried
in September. Barbra is a widow with 3 children and her husband had
been a pastor at a Church in Mukono that he had worked with there. Pray
for this to be a blessing to the ministry.
